Blandswath Cottage enjoys a tranquil position on the banks of the River Eden, near Kirkby Stephen. The Yorkshire Dales National Park is nearby. It is spacious, comfortably furnished and is maintained to a very high standard. Situated within 100 acres of the owner’s land, around which visitors are free to roam, it is fronted by a garden with slide and sandpit.
An excellent base for walking the Eden Valley, the Pennine Hills and the beautiful Howgill Fells, it is also central for the Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales. Free fishing for one on the nearby River Eden is available in season with other activities such as horse riding and golf close by. The cottage can sleep up to 6 people plus a cot.
Blandswath Cottage is situated adjacent to a farm. It is totally surrounded by farmland and rolling countryside and is a place to unwind. Guests have every chance of enjoying a relaxing and peaceful stay.
There are many walks in the immediate vicinity of the cottage. There is little need to drive. The nearby footpaths take in river, woodland and fell scenery.
Anglers fishing the River Eden can walk from the cottage to the banks in just a few minutes. In addition to the single ticket available to guests additional day fishing permits are available locally. Rambling, cycling, bird watching, golf and fishing are just a few of the outdoor activities available in the locality.
Blandswath Cottage is located in the The Eden Valley, the hidden jewel in the crown of Cumbria. It is on the doorstep of the extended Yorkshire Dales National Park. The Eden Valley offers uncrowded space amidst beautiful rolling countryside.
Kirkby Stephen, just two miles away, has many interesting shops which are not the usual chain stores. There are also winding alleyways to explore and there are excellent dining facilities including take-aways.
Everywhere nearby the Cumbrian fells form a beautiful picturesque backdrop. Walking, cycling and short drives all take in magnificent scenery. Other market towns nearby include Appleby and Sedbergh.
Blandswath Cottage is well situated for exploring the nearby Yorkshire Dales National Park, the Lake District National Park to the west and the North Yorkshire Moors to the north west. All are within easy driving distance.
